GYROFOCUS - This seminal design, created in 1968, was the first suspended, 360° pivoting fireplace. It became the signature model and symbol of Focus.This international classic has been voted “world’s most beautiful object” at the 2009 Pulchra Design Awards, against over 100 prestigious competitors. It has been exhibited in the Bordeaux Contemporary Art Museum (1996), in the National Centre of Contemporary Art in Grenoble (1997) and in New York’s Guggenheim Museum (1998).
Characteristics
hearth: diameter 1.25 m, weight 97 kg; standard plate weight: 19 kg; flue: 16 kg/m (made to measure); highly heat-resistant matt black paint; trapdoor for removing ash. A stainless steel ball-bearing system allows the fireplace to be rotated so it can be easily directed to face different parts of the room.- guaranteed efficiency with a minimum flue length (interior plus exterior) of 4.25 m. -
