Hanging plant pot
Estensioni is the collection which marks Car-Met’s first stage in the creation of Formae, Laura and Simone Tramonti’s key step in reinterpreting all the artisan skill of their father Gennaro in the structural metalwork sector in a new, broader and more contemporary enterprise.
This collection therefore represents an extension – hence the name – which involves consolidated skills in new ideas and images, in which the objects themselves are called on to be part of the change.
Estensioni features four different lines from designers Lucio Curcio and Luca Binaglia, Valerio Paula Ciampicacigli, Anna Mercurio and the brand’s artistic director, Leonardo Fortino. Each is based on the analysis and renewal of simple geometric forms to create home accessories designed as functional domestic presences which define an essential and colourful aesthetic universe.
Estensioni#4 all revolves around the circle: a collection with noticeably graphical characteristics, which investigates the topic of the circumference in combination with the lessons from Bauhaus maestro Joseph Albers on the study of planes.
The result is a collection of extremely sleek and essential objects, designed to co-exist in the same space: Costellation, a mirror and coat hook; Half Moon, a shelf born of attentive analysis of the circle; and Saturno, a circular structure which turns into a vase stand.
This collection is designed by Anna Mercurio, who brings her extensive experience in the visual communications field and as a lecturer in Basic Design at the Quasar design University in Rome.
A die-cut, folded circle is used to create a three-dimensional structure that supports a white ceramic vase. The piece can transition from being two to three-dimensional in a single movement.
The vase holder is available in three different sizes and various colours, and is supported by a nautical white rope.
