Gardeco TRAVEL PIECES

Though Þorsteinsson has frequently worked on large pieces, some of his most memorable work are his “Travel pieces”, miniature sculptures made from pliable materials that he carries with him wherever he goes.‎ Þorsteinsson’s “Travel pieces” have been reproduced by Gardeco.‎ The names Sif, Thor and Ýr are related to Nordic mythology.‎ These pieces are his thoughts made visible, ruminations on the Icelandic landscape and biomorphic fantasies arising from it.‎
