Ice caves

An ice cave is a room which is totally covered with ice and snow to let your body cool down rapidly after the sauna. The room is kept at a 3-5°C temperature and a low humidity rate, i.e. 10%. The passage from hot to cold temperatures is so good for your body that the Finnish, in winter, after the sauna, bore a hole in the ice where they dive into freezing water. By scrubbing your skin with snow you improve peripheral blood circulation and reinforce the immune system. You can’t stay long. When you start feeling cold you have to get our and people with serious circulation conditions must avoid it. Ice caves can be made with prefab cabins and are equipped with ice making devices.
