Handmade rug with geometric shapes
Graphic elements, abstract geometries, color stains cut loose to create floral patterns, analysis of emotions: the collection “Nodi” reveals the visionary talent of Rosemarie Auberson, Valentina Cameranesi, Casalinghe di Tokyo, José Mendoza, capable of changing the ancient hand-knotted technique into avantgarde design.
Tintas (the Spanish word for “inks”) is hand knotted carpet using the Soumak technique.
The design features a balanced composition of geometric shapes created through colourful lines that overlap, emerge and disappear, like spontaneous hand drawn strokes on a piece of paper. Tintas celebrates the beauty hidden in details of simple acts. Wool yarns dyed in bright colours and details of darker tones are combined and blended together following the rhythm of a grid that has been meticulously designed on each knot of the rug.
