Thermafiber® FireSpan® products are designed to provide enhanced fire protection in curtain wall and perimeter fire containment systems. These products are non-combustible, moisture-resistant, non-corrosive, non-deteriorating, mildewresistant and vermin-resistant. Its natural dark color provides shadowing in glass spandrels. FireSpan® 40&90 EU insulations provide thermal insulation, fire containment, enhanced acoustical performance, and vapor control in many different UL and Intertek (formerly OPL) listed fire containment assemblies of 1, 2, and 3-hr ratings.
Firespan 40&90 EU panels offer a solution to the problem of fire spreading through the void between floor and external wall, as they have been tested according to the North American standard ASTM E2307: a fire test standard for evaluating the performance of fire systems. perimeter fire barrier which measures the ability of perimeter fire barrier systems to prevent the spread of fire when the outer wall flexes or deforms during exposure to fire. ASTM E2307 also determines the period of time in which the perimeter fire protection system is able to limit the penetration of the flame through the cavity (internal void between the floor and the external wall.)
The panels comply with the American standards ASTM C 612 and UL specific for mineral fiber panels.
