GRANDE MARBLE LOOK By MARAZZI
Porcelain stoneware flooring terrazzo effect
2019
Ghiara is the new stoneware collection inspired by Venetian Terrazzo declined in three variants:
Palladiana, with extra-large black and white fragments, Calcina, in which the cement base predominates over the fragments, and finally Minuta, in which the pebbles are tiny (“minute”) and very densely packed.
All variants are available in two rectified sizes, 120x120 cm and 60x120 cm in slimline thickness - 6 mm - and in two different surfaces: natural and glossy. In the natural version, the fragments are slightly polished to underline the contrast with the substrate, for a natural, slightly three-dimensional effect.
Ghiara Palladiana is created with a mixture of large fragments of Bianco Carrara and Nero Marquina marble. It recalls traditional Palladiana paving, a patchwork of very large, unevenly shaped fragments of different marbles, made popular by Andrea Palladio, after whom it is named.
Ghiara Calcina is available in two colours - Polvere and Fumo - inspired by the mood created by David Chipperfield for the new Valentino flagship stores; they both comprise a cement base with Bianco Carrara Marble inclusions. Calcina Fumo has a stronger character due to the contrast with the deep grey base, which highlights the sharp edges of the fragments; Calcina Polvere is more subtle in appearance, with less contrast between the delicate base colours and the white of the fragments.
Ghiara Minuta is the version in which the pebbles are very small in size: Minuta Bicolor is made with the same materials as Ghiara Palladiana, Bianco Carrara and Nero Marquina, but the fragments are much smaller and denser; Minuta Mix is definitely a more contemporary interpretation of Venetian Seminato: the fragments are a mix of coloured marbles, which give this Terrazzo a very distinctive look. Minuta Mono is an additional variant with small, very densely packed fragments of white marble, with very subtle vein patterns: the strong contrast with the black cement base, ornamented with tiny fragments of Nero Marquina, creates an interesting interplay between the glossy marble and matt cement.
This collection is suitable for covering both residential and light commercial interiors.
