A vast body of water flowing majestically - the inspiration for this exquisite wooden panel with its long, curving bends was the longest and widest river in Europe, the Volga, winding endlessly across the continent. Sinuous river-bed-like hollows and flat areas representing land alternate harmoniously on this wall covering, suggesting that these two simply cannot live without each other – just like in nature.
