DECHIRER NEUTRAL NERO By Mutina
Indoor porcelain stoneware wall/floor tiles
2008
A collection in progress, Déchirer designed by Patricia Urquiola is a range of large-sized, unglazed porcelain stoneware tiles, where the 3D effect of the texture plays a fundamental role. Patterns which look like layers of memory alternate on the surface, creating surprising effects of light and shadow.
The main element of the collection is its inspiration of concrete sensations, with patterns that lie in the memories of the past. The ceramic floor and wall slabs hold slightest, irregular hints of decor, filigree threads that run through the surfaces. It is a game of contrast and fade-ins that offers a range of solutions by alternating the composition with plain and decorated patterns, with sharp-edged slabs and patchwork designs.
The latest-generation technology “Continua”, combined with the great technical performance and the new and original design of large, hexagonal and orthogonal formats (120x120 cm) make Déchirer a veritable state-of-the-art product.
Déchirer is available in five colours - Bianco, Nero, Grigio, Ecrù, and Piombo - and in two textures – Decor and Neutral. The project is implemented by the Random Mosaic, Déchirer Esagona 60x60 and Déchirer Glass, the new recycled glass mosaic, is realized through an innovative productive process with “zero” environmental impact and with a re-utilisation of the 80% of the raw material.
