Sinks

For those furnishing a kitchen, the choice of sink is of fundamental importance. The kitchen sink is in fact the object of continuous stylistic experimentation that has led to ever thinner models with versatile design, designed to be inserted in any context. Whether they are made of stainless steel, acrylic stone or metal, the sinks complete the kitchen design by integrating with the worktop to create an area where functionality is combined with design refinement. Whether you have space problems or are looking for modern and original solutions, sinks are always characterized by a precise aesthetic sense and ergonomic design. These are very important elements, so they should be assessed very carefully.
They can have different characteristics, shapes and sizes: all aspects not to be underestimated, because not only do they contribute to furnishing the environment, but they allow a more comfortable and functional kitchen. Before dwelling on the aesthetic characteristics of the sink, however, it is important to know the measurements of the space in which it will be positioned and above all to check the position of the water drains, as it will have to be installed exactly above them.

Built-in kitchen sinks

The built-in kitchen sink is a type of sink that fits directly into the designated areas of the kitchen. Since these types of sinks must be inserted into the worktop, it is important to choose the shape and material that best suits the environment. When you choose a built-in sink, in addition to its size, you also evaluate the aesthetic side, which is greatly influenced by the material it is made of: for example, a stainless steel sink has excellent heat resistance, is also very hygienic thanks to its surface, maintains its functionality over time and gives charm and elegance to your kitchen. Many steel sinks are customizable on request with a double or triple hole, necessary to add the remote control or, alternatively, the practical soap or detergent dispenser. Very popular on the market are also the sinks in stone, ceramic and marble, aesthetically pleasing to the eye and impact resistant. Steel and ceramic sinks are increasingly often contrasted with products made of innovative materials, in this case Corian® sinks and Fragranite® ones, warm and comfortable to the touch and capable of combining resistance and hygiene with a beauty that remains unchanged over time. There are many advantages offered by these materials, including the ability to customize the design of the model, color and texture. If sinks in composite material are the most frequently adopted solution in recent times it is also thanks to companies engaged in the research of new products and technologies in this specific sector. The characteristics common to sinks made of these different materials are, in addition to practicality and functionality, above all eco-sustainability and hygiene. The components used, in fact, contribute to give a final appearance similar to natural stone but allow more innovative processing, for more compact and smooth surfaces that do not absorb or scratch. Moreover, these products are created with full respect for man and his environment and maintain this respect both during the manufacturing phase and throughout the entire life cycle: the production processes are energy-saving, the raw materials are natural and recyclable.

Kitchen sinks for every need

In terms of assembly and installation, in addition to the more classic style kitchen sinks, we also find modern sinks that can be flush-mount and semi-flushmount, able to adapt perfectly to the worktop and design of the kitchen. Then there are the under-top sinks, usually made with modern and avant-garde materials, in which the basin sink integrates perfectly by disappearing into the kitchen top, the semi-recessed sinks slightly protruding from the outside, to allow a more comfortable use, and the most common countertop sinks, comfortable, practical and generally made of ceramic.
Minimal or elegant and with great aesthetic impact, the sinks offer great functionality and wide range differentiation: with three tubs, double tub, single tub, with or without drip tray. As we have seen, they have different built-in solutions to meet the many different requirements in the washing area.

Equipped kitchen sinks

In addition to the classic models of single-bowl sinks, perfect for the smallest mini-kitchens, the most widely used are certainly the two-bowls sink models, which can then evolve into one and a half-bowl sinks or even special types of three-bowls sinks, depending on the space available. If we don't have a linear kitchen, but we don't want to give up the convenience of a large washing space, the corner sink could be the right model for us. When buying a sink, the various accessories must also be considered, first of all the indispensable tap available in the most varied and innovative shapes, some with additional functions and details to meet every need. Equipped sinks are also available, very comfortable because in the centimetres dedicated to the washing function they also allow you to place many useful accessories that otherwise should be stored in the compartments of the kitchen modules. Generally made of stainless steel, a hygienic and resistant material, compared to other types, the equipped sink does not need a drainer because it is equipped with a perforated tray or removable grids. Other useful accessories provided on sinks can be chopping boards, knife holders and flush top covers, which can also be used as shelves. From the ultramodern to the traditional style, there are kitchen sinks suitable for every need and characterized by functionality and an unmistakable design.
