YAMA By Vivere Zen
Tatami solid wood double bed
The handcrafted platform bed Yama, in genuine Japanese style, is made of solid okumé wood. It is equipped with rigid slats, although you can choose the option with tatami mats, which help to give the bed an even more oriental charm. This slatted bed is a product designed to be environmentally friendly, made entirely of wood, it is interlocking and is metal-free.
The paints used for the Yama platform bed are strictly organic. This is a natural wood stain produced in Italy, made from castor and linseed oil, resin, citrus peel oil and beech pitch oil, with the addition of essences of lavender, rosemary and stone pine.
The bed frame is 9 cm wide and 5.5 cm high. The legs measure 5.5 cm, for a total height of 11 cm. Since the bed's recess is only half an inch, traditional 5.5 cm tatami mats will stick out of the bed almost completely.
Available colors:
Natural okumé - Cherry okumé - Wenge okumé - Walnut okumé - Bleached okumé
All of the Torino collection beds are painted with organic varnishes and, depending on the model, can be made entirely with interlocking joints or with very few metal screws. The materials used are okumé and solid ash.
At the Turin workshop, beds and sofas, futons, textiles and mattresses are made with Italian products and by Italian craftsmen. Beds and sofas are made from solid okumé and ash wood. Solid wood is a valuable material, very resistant and of high quality. The beds of the Torino collection are almost, if not completely, metal-free: they can be assembled with just a few screws or with interlocking systems.
