Founded in 1992 by the passion of the Crosetta family, Tubes represents a unique case history in the
radiator and towel warmer sector, thanks to the strong push toward aesthetic and formal innovation that, since its beginnings in the market, has connoted as strongly evolutionary and dynamic its approach to the product. Tubes is based in Resana, in the province of Treviso, and all production is followed in-house. Made-in-Italy is one of the core values of the company's philosophy, as are innovation, formal and technological experimentation, craftsmanship and quality.
Through its history and continuous experimentation, Tubes has revolutionized the concept of the
radiator, transforming it into a design icon capable of defining architectural space. The visionary and radical approach has been recognized by the most relevant and prestigious international institutions of design and contemporary art. Some Tubes radiators are housed in the permanent collections of the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the International Design Museum in Munich, and the MAC (Musée d'Art Contemporain) in Montréal. Among the most influential awards achieved in recent years are the 2018 ADI Compasso d'Oro, the 2018 Design Europa Award, the 2016 Salone del Mobile Award, and Honorable Mention at the 2016 ADI Compasso d'Oro.
The history of Tubes and the evolution of the decorative radiator
Tubes' evolutionary path has been rapid and marked by milestones that have made it a pioneer in the industry. The first milestone is the
Basics collection, created in 1994 and still in the catalog. Already in the earliest proposals one can see a constant focus on the formal aspect and attention to details such as, for example, the invisible welds of the tubes. Another aspect worth mentioning is, from the very beginning, the attention to water consumption and thermal efficiency. Over the years more and more importance is given to aesthetic care, giving the heating body the personality of a furnishing accessory.
Tubes, designer radiators and towel warmers
The real turning point in Tubes' journey, however, is the creation of the
Elements collection in 2004, which, under the artistic direction of
Ludovica Serafini+Roberto Palomba, represents a real revolution in the radiator sector. In this collection, a new concept of a heating object is expressed, which is transformed into a design icon. The company invites designers from the international scene (Antonia Astori, Matteo Fiorini, Stefano Giovannoni, Elisa Giovannoni, Peter Jamieson, Alberto Meda, Nicola De Ponti, Satyendra Pakhalé, Elisa Ossino, as well as Ludovica Serafini+Roberto Palomba themselves) to reinterpret the radiator as an element of the architectural structure, endowed with a strong personality, thanks also to the possibility of customization and modularity. Tubes' continuous research and experimentation, leads to exploring new and totally unusual placements for the radiator such as
free-standing models that enjoy freedom of positioning within the space.
Tubes' Plug&Play collection of heating objects
2018 marks another significant milestone in Tubes' history. In addition to the continued development of the Elements collection, a new phase opens with the introduction of the
Plug&Play collection. This product line introduces an innovative idea of designer portable heating, oriented toward the concept of 'personal heat' instead of traditional architectural wall heating. The distinguishing feature of this collection is the combination of portability and design aesthetics, without the need for installation, allowing total flexibility in its placement and use.
24-volt heat accessories, the new frontier of heat
Recently, Tubes has introduced to the market the concept of “
heat accessories”, electrical and 24 VOLT objects that, operating at very low voltage, can be installed in wet environments such as a walk-in shower or over a tub or in spas. A new frontier of heat that demonstrates Tubes' great attention to hospitality sectors such as hotels, spas, or in the naval field.
The sustainability of Tubes production
All Tubes production is in-house and concentrated at the historic Resana site in the province of Treviso. Tubes mainly selects loyal and 90 percent local suppliers to maintain full control of the production chain and safeguard its ties to the local area. The company is committed to making
energy-efficient radiators that, thanks to specific in-house technology and research into the shape, require little water, ensuring water and energy savings with excellent thermal response. Tubes is committed to reducing waste and adopting water-saving systems. It chooses 100% recyclable materials, such as aluminum, whenever possible and uses nanotechnology for coating processes.
