ZEE, a Belgian brand established in 2012, set out to create unique design products from scratch. However, with so many designs already out there, it was challenging to introduce something truly new. Eventually, we decided to specialize in garden accessories, starting with garden hose reel. The name "ZEE" means "sea" in Dutch, so we named our first product "mirtoon," after a Mediterranean sea. Upon its launch, it was awarded the "Henry Van De Velde label." And recently, our Koro barbecue received a “German Design Award”. ZEE represents fun, affordable, and striking garden design.

The importance of the garden and patio as an extension of the home has grown tremendously in recent years. Designers around the world are putting their talents into shaping furniture, light fixtures, and even weatherproof fabrics to make outdoor spaces as important as a living room. The ZEE® company is proposing one step further and is also focusing on details. The water hose is probably one of the most essential outdoor tools; it is used for watering plants and flower beds, but also for cleaning and play. But surprisingly, until now not much attention had been paid to the design of hose reels and related accessories. So ZEE® only works with black and white and opts for a minimal look, succeeding in making true design objects for the outdoors. Where with Mirtoon it explored new territories in the garden, with the Levantine outdoor shower and the Koro barbecue, the brand explored a market where it was not alone. Yet it managed to stand out defending itself in this competitive market. Alain Gilles, 2012 Belgian Designer of the Year, designed Levantine. Alain's elegant and organic design is not only a beautiful garden shower, but it can also be seen as a sculpture that will emphasize the garden.
