04/02/2020 - Danish furniture producer Hammel has presented new items at the annual furniture expo in Cologne. Among the novelties, the new do-it-yourself series of shelving units, “KEEP by Hammel”, a unique series of refectory tables, and new products for the lounge segment with lounge chairs and coffee tables.

Over the past year, in collaboration with external Danish designers, Hammel has focused their work on finding perfect solutions to everyday challenges. For instance, as something completely new for this market, there is space in the new refectory tables for up to 6 extension leaves! And the new Metube lounge chair has an adjustable back so anyone can sit with the correct back support.

'We are all different, but for years we have worked on flexible and practical solutions, and we try to carry this into the rest of our product range', says the managing director Jens-Ole Staghøj.

KEEP by Hammel is a brand-new luxury DIY shelving line designed by the Danish design duo Steffensen & Würtz. The line has no visible brackets, but rather rounded, attractive details with “click-effect” for the online segment. 'We have worked hard since last year’s expo on creating an even more attractive universe with even more spectacular new items and concepts, all in a new booth layout. Our booth has 4 open sides, and that is a challenge in and of itself for a manufacturer of shelving units', adds CCO Lars Ehlers.

'In addition, we have worked on Sustainable Development Goals, selecting 3 goals where we believe we can contribute and make a difference. These are goal #3 (Health and Wellbeing), #8 (Decent jobs), and #12 (Responsible consumption and production), which we are working on and will continue to work on at our two factories. Our work on UN’s Sustainable Development Goals supplements and organizes our daily and ongoing work with credibility, responsibility, and sustainability in all processes", says CCO Lars Ehlers.
