New Design Innovations by millelumen
22/06/2020 - Reducing form to its essence is the basic design principle of millelumen. The reduction of form is accompanied by a maximum of function, of light, light scenes and mood lighting in endless variations as expressions of sensually perceptible aesthetics. Ecological, economically efficient and sustainable values are hereby imperative for cutting-edge technology and materials.

With the Casablanca 3D design series as well as the models ASHIYA and SYSS, German manufacturer millelumen presents a series of new products that remain true to its design and technical principles as well as meeting the high demands in terms of quality and sustainability.

Casablanca 3D-Design Series
The new Casablanca 3D design lighting series, consisting of DIADEMO, ANDAO and AMPHOR, is made in Germany using the latest 3D printing process from renewable, biodegradable raw materials.

DIADEMO, ANDAO and AMPHOR prove that sustainability, design and quality can be combined through a new innovative manufacturing process. 3D printing is an additive manufacturing, which means a process that uses all materials without producing waste. The lamps are made only from a biomaterial called liquid wood. This biodegradable material is light, stable, waterproof, UV and heat resistant for the use of modern LED bulbs. The eco-friendly process made from renewable raw materials without petroleum is operated in Germany entirely with green electricity and emission-free.

The complex biomorphic structures of the new 3D design series can only be produced through 3D printing. The 3D printed luminaire bodies are absolute eye-catchers and generate curiosity thanks to their unusual structure. The honeycomb-like surface creates exciting light effects on surrounding walls and ceilings – a visual pleasing play with light and shadow.

ASHIYA
The millelumen ASHIYA luminaire, inspired by Japanese origami folding art, was developed by designer Jordi Aguilo Lopez on a trip to Japan. It seems to float on the wall like a carefully folded thin sheet while underlining and flattering it. The noble surfaces of the solid curved aluminium plate complete the clear design.

The carefully handbrushed surfaces in brass, bronze, emerald black and titanium black underline the high-quality appearance with a charming metallic shine.

SYSS
With SYSS, classic elegance meets modern design. High quality hand-blown multilayer glass in opal white with an outside crystal clear glass layer or solid clear glass manually coated with gold or silver leaf from the inside.

The white glossy opal glass creates an all around soft light emission and convinces with puristic charm. The elegant look of the gold and silver leaf decoration guarantees glare-free light, thanks to hidden lighting technology. All models of the SYSS series are equipped with E27 sockets for individual assembly, light source interchangeability and to be future-proof. The all-round glass milling limiting the decor is a high-quality detail. Like the glass edges this milling is transparently hand-polished.

The decor-free glass areas allow indirect light emission to create a play of light and shadow on the ceiling as well as glare-free lighting underneath the luminaire.
