Wood and metal between combinations and overlaps
17/05/2018 - Last April, Punt presented the new furnishing elements for the home and contract spaces: the Malmö sideboards designed by Mario Ruiz and the Hug chair by Manel Molina. A balance between emotion and functionality, the new pieces explore the potential of wood and metal, in a play of combinations and overlaps.

After the Stockholm collection presented in 2012, Mario Ruiz presents this year Malmo, the new wooden and metal sideboard. “Usually the sideboard is made from a single block. For this design I have separated the parts that make up the whole, underlining the connection angles of the surfaces. In this way we create a fluid and decisive graphic sign, the fulcrum of the whole design.

Manel Molina presents Hug, the new seating family. “Hug is our first design for Punt”, says Molina. “The seat is made of two enveloping wooden shells, which are covered with a soft padding. The seat is therefore presented with a double face: rigid on the outside - with the shell in wood or covered in metal - and soft inside thanks to the soft and ergonomic cushions. The different bases combined with the body coverings and upholstery fabrics give life to a family of versatile and customizable seats. A chair that reflects the values of the brand and exploits its potential in terms of the processing of the materials”.
