Paper Clay Scenarios Inspired by Nature
21/01/2020 - The Cartocci collection by Paola Paronetto, made with the paper clay technique, is still growing. At the January 2020 edition of the Maison & Objet fair in Paris, Paola Paronetto has presented the latest creations BOSCO (forest) and PISTILLI (pistils) characterized by vertical and slender shapes. Both families of objects are composed of tubular shapes to assume facets that are both evocative and abstract, almost playful, inspired by nature. As suggested by their names, the objects of the BOSCO and PISTILLI series acquire their maximum expressiveness in groups, playing with different heights and/or colours, just as in nature.

Pistilli

Not only through the technique of paper clay, but also with the infinite compositional possibilities, BOSCO and PISTILLI are regarded as a logical evolution of the Cartocci collection, with which Paola Paronetto has always explored the compositional power of individual objects, united in evocative groups of still life.

Using her particular sensitivity and feminine creativity, Paola Paronetto has developed a very personal interpretation of the ancient techniques of working with clay, the multiple expressions of raku, and currently porcelain and paper clay. In particular, the paper clay processing method is completely handmade with a long and complex procedure and can vary in size and shape during the production or firing process.
