Schönbuch: An Inspiring Journey to the Seaside
24/01/2020 - schönbuch has presented their 11 product novelties at imm Cologne on an inspiring journey to the seaside. The exhibition stand – designed by Carolin Sangha ( Creative Director schönbuch | @casa57 ) – was stylistically divided into this two themes by colour: On the Beach - The Deep Blue Sea.

The creative director Carolin Sangha loves the sea and the beach. For the concept, she was inspired by the diverse colour nuances of the ocean with all its deep blue tones, rich greens and light turquoise and petroleum colours. As a counterpoint, she uses the colours of the beach, with the light sand tones, rose, pink and yellow reflections and dark shadow plays.

The result is an interesting interplay of two architecturally separate parts, which merge with each other through views. Just like the sea with the beach. The colour concept of the stand was developed in exclusive cooperation with CAPAROL ICONS.

Amanita by Christian Haas
The AMANITA side table combines contemporary clarity with a surprising sense of familiarity. It’s down to the natural elegance of its mushroom-like form. The table top and the upper section of the foot are both made of solid wood, with an open-pore, matt lacquered finish. This makes for a subtle contrast to the same-coloured high-gloss finish of the lower section. The subdued sheen of the foot complements the visual unity of the horizontal and vertical surfaces perfectly. With a range of colours to choose from, it’s easy to give AMANITA a personal touch. The table comes in two sizes with different diameters and heights, making it even more practical and versatile as an accessory.

Beam by Ilja Huber
The BEAM floor mirror opens up new and exciting perspectives. From the front, the large, tilted, frameless looking glass appears to float. From behind, the angled surfaces give it a monolithic quality. Refined in its simplicity, the design combines formal rigour with contemporary elegance. BEAM can be finished in oiled oak veneer or a choice of matt or high-gloss lacquers.

Bow by f/p design
A creative focus on the essentials can result in a purist interior highlight – and the BOW coat stand proves it. With a central steel post that measures just 2.5 cm across, the delicate proportions of BOW belie its true strength. Strikingly, the post is positioned towards the side of the foot plate, giving BOW the look of an oversized bracket, especially when viewed from the side. The post and foot are finished in a finely textured powder coating in either rose wood, citrus yellow, grey-white or slate black. On top of the hanging rail, an almost invisible flat plastic strip protects the powder coating from hangers.

Bureau by Earnest Studio
The console table from the BUREAU range combines practical versatility with cool elegance. A great allrounder, it works well as a storage solution in hallways and living areas, but also as a slimline writing desk for home offices and hotel rooms. In combination with a mirror, it serves as a purist make-up table. Beneath the tabletop, with its rounded edges, is a storage compartment, which is enclosed at the sides and can be fitted with an optional electrical socket, if desired. The top, storage compartment and solid beech frame are all fully lacquered, with a broad palette of matt colours to choose from. For extra resilience and scratchproofing, the lacquer can be finished with a nanocoating, making BUREAU perfect for commercial spaces. The console table is also available in oiled, natural walnut or bleached maple with a clear varnish finish. The tabletop, storage compartment and frame are all made of solid wood. One of the legs includes a small, integrated foot, which can be adjusted to ensure the console stands squarely. The BUREAU range also comprises a similar-looking desk. Both the desk and the console work particularly well with the MALA bench. A single line of furniture, a range of possibilities.

Charpai by Hanne Willmann
The CHARPAI daybed is a minimalist, multifunctional interior highlight with a clear, contemporary feel. It is inspired by the traditional Indian charpoy, used for sitting or reclining. CHARPAI is made of solid oak and finished with natural oil or open-pore lacquer. With a range of colours to choose from and three flat cushions to arrange as required, it is easy to make CHARPAI your own. The cushions can be covered in a choice of hard-wearing, high-quality fabrics and leathers. With various colours to choose from, they can also be used to set an accent in the room. A special coating on the underside of the fabric keeps them firmly in position, and they can also be used as a backrest if CHARPAI is positioned against a wall.

Cinema by Jonathan Radetz & Antonia Henschel
The cast-glass CINEMA bookends elegantly meld graphic and product design to create beauty. Their typography-inspired forms are based on the open and closed interior spaces of letters. Transferred to an entirely new and surprising context, these spaces become objects with a strong presence of their own. CINEMA comes in four colour palettes: Pink Shades, Water Green, Brilliant Blue and Sunset Yellow. Each palette comprises four colour variations, one for each bookend. The through-coloured glass makes the bookends particularly solid and stable, while at the same time allowing light to flow through.

Geo by Bao-Nghi Droste
The GEO wall mirror is an invitation to take a closer look. The slender metal frame (45 x 45 cm) is powder-coated in black with a finely textured surface and square in shape. The looking glass inside it, however, is either a rectangle, a triangle, a quartercircle, a half-oval — or a square. And that’s the key feature of GEO: four of the five mirror shapes available do not fill the frame entirely. Instead, they leave a section of the back panel visible. Only the square mirror fills the frame completely, making it the perfect counterpart to any or all of the others. The hooks on the rear allow the mirrors to be hung in various ways, and when grouped, the result can be very effective.

Juste by Christian Haas
The JUSTE console table is a luxurious statement piece. The top consists of a single oversized ceramic tile, custom-made in Italy. Resting within its frame, the tile exudes warmth, bringing a mediterranean touch to a contemporary-looking table. It comes in a choice of five colours — Ivory Black, Desert Sun, Sea Mist, Sandy Bay and Marinière — all of which can be found in the Le Corbusier colour range. The tile makes for a striking contrast with the solid wood frame of the table, which is finished in openpore black lacquer. Available in three sizes, JUSTE has a convincingly purist presence of its own, but it also provides the perfect platform for plant arrangements and to showcase other interior accessories. The smallest version is ideal as a side table to complement sofas and lounge chairs. Ceramic tiles are particularly practical, highly resilient and virtually immune to the effects of water and heat. JUSTE reinterprets ceramics in a new light, with architectural clarity and style.

An inspiring showcase that couples minimalist design with reading materials to create an ever-changing display of personal favourites.

Simetria by Studio Besau-Marguerre
SIMETRIA is a range of eight very special interior highlights. Crafted from thin sheets of wood, the delicate, slimline wall cabinets are just 14 or 18 cm deep and extraordinarily elegant and light. Circular, semi-circular, rectangular and square, their subtle forms give them a natural appeal. And with a wide range of matt lacquers to choose from, each one can be ordered in a different colour. Selected cabinets can be combined to create a carefully curated wall display, their various forms and colour combinations offering plenty of scope for creativity. But SIMETRIA is also highly practical, bringing order to the home by providing convenient storage for favourite pieces and everyday odds and ends. Their characteristic details include special, finely worked hinges and a magnet to close the door.

Tilda by etc.etc.
TILDA is a versatile and intriguing interior accessory that combines a coat stand with a pouf. The strength of this two-in-one solution lies in its creative melding of opposites: function meets aesthetics, fabric meets metal, and slender rods combine with a comfortable seat. TILDA works well as a coat stand, taking jackets, scarves and so on in hallways, but also as a valet stand in bedrooms and dressing rooms, where it is ideal for hanging clothes and offers integrated seating. It also features a small, adjustable shelf for storing everyday odds and ends such as smartphones and keys. Like the rods, the shelf is finished in a finely textured powder coating.
