22/05/2023 - Nature's essence in decorative glass:
Serip launches three new collections:
Origem,
Dandelion, and
Voa Rebirth, each comprising over 30 exceptional pieces.
Serip draws inspiration from the organic elements that inhabit our planet, following in the footsteps of nature-based works from the late 19th and early 20th centuries by the likes of Louis Comfort Tiffany and Hector Guimard, who celebrated the sinuous and curvilinear forms of the physical world. More generally, Serip's work falls within the long tradition of the ornamental and decorative glass arts. Their latest collections, recently unveiled at Euroluce, encapsulate the deep connection between nature and human existence, exploring themes of resilience, transformation, and the cyclical flow of life.
The aptly named
Origem finds its muse in the environment's response to cataclysmic events - a striking manifestation of life's continuity amidst darkness and turmoil. It is an ode to vitality, even in the face of adversity. The collection resonates with primordial elements, like stones that suggest the tectonic plates that forged the earth after violent upheaval. The graceful embrace of vines and nascent roots symbolises the indomitable will to resurrect and thrive. Origem embodies genesis, origin, and prologue.
Dandelion is inspired by the stages of the flower's life cycle - from its humble beginnings as a fragile seedling to its bloom to the ethereal white ball, the whimsical moment when the dandelion, aided by the wind, spreads its seeds to ensure the continuation of the species. Serip pays tribute to the plant's profound adaptability and resilience. This collection reminds us of the ebb and flow of life, understanding that the end of one phase signals the beginning of another. The pieces in this collection artfully express contrasting shades of darkness and rawness, fragility and elegance, expressing the bittersweet stages of life.

Voa Rebirth breathes new life into today's Voa collection, capturing not its culmination but its transformation. Where the previous collection boasted a more tangible form, Voa Rebirth reveals a resurgent quintessence in a nascent state - a delicate revelation of genesis and evolution. The collection also shows nature itself emerging from delicate glass nests. Swallows gently appear, their movements magical, representing the very essence of the cycle of regeneration and renewal.
