Soft and Sinuous Curves. The Living Collection by Flou
12/06/2020 - Flou presents the living collection: Lilia armchair and the system of poufs and coffee tables Pierre are the 2020 novelties, while Icon and Binario sofas expand with new version and elements. Furnishings with organic shapes inspired by nature, in which soft graphic signs and sinuous curves create extraordinary optical effects. Original textures are produced by the same dynamism and power that create every living creature.

Lilia is the result of the first collaboration between the acclaimed Chinese architect and designer Steve Leung and Flou. A swivel armchair (360°), with a soft, functional shape which seems to have originated naturally from a flower that has just blossomed. The backrest softly envelopes the seat, and the asymmetry of the two armrests gives the design an original and contemporary touch. A project that gives hints of stylish design thanks to the cover, which is available in a range of fabrics and leathers with the option of choosing two colours: one for the external part of the backrest, and another for the internal part of the armchair and for the seat.

Pierre is a versatile system of poufs and coffee tables, ideal for rooms of every size. They adapt perfectly to any private or public living environment.
'This project developed from the compass and curves, a quest for harmonious and sinuous shapes combined with the sharpness of modern sculpture. In the coffee tables, the surfaces of the base are close without touching, creating a delightful, ever-change optical effect. This distance is also repeated between the various elements that are superimposed vertically and horizontally, giving rise to a multitude of combinations', says Studio Contromano.

The poufs are available in three different sizes with irregular but continuous contours that are reminiscent of pebbles on a beach that have been smoothed and beaten by the waves of the sea. They are soft, padded and covered in fabric, leather and Ecopelle, with visible topstitching that defines the shapes.
The coffee tables are produced in metal and are available in a variety of heights; they have a round top and a curved base that allow them to lie close to the poufs. Pierre is much more than a collection of items: it is a game in which the elements lie side-by-side, they follow each other, they approach and distance, creating a flow – a group of harmonious shapes that are never the same.

The Icon family by Carlo Colombo is expanding thanks to a program of modular seating with modern, captivating lines and a suspended and minimal structure. A proposal of transversal comfort that would be a welcome addition to every area of the home, thanks to its light, sophisticated image, the carefully studied details and the maximum care and attention to the finish.
Tthe modern design and the lightweight appearance is accentuated by the raised seat and the details visible on the metal base and feet: it is an explicit reference to the aesthetic characteristics of the double-size bed of the Icon series. In this design, the perfection of the proportions accompanies the elegance of the visible stitching, handcrafted by skillful upholstery tailors.
Even in the wider corner compositions the sofa Icon stands out for its elegant and light look. The starkness of the metal feet pleasantly contrasts with the softness of the backrests and of the armrests, which have a rounded shape that has been intentionally accentuated.

The Binario project designed by Pinuccio Borgonovo evolves along a systemic pathway with the addition of elements that offer variable compositions that can be arranged and rearranged, creating spaces with a full and empty effect.
Like the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, each element is interchangeable: seating and poufs separate, they are assembled and re-assembled to create arrangements that are always new and design the spaces to suit every necessity.
The two- and three-seater sofas are available with one or two armrests and can be arranged as desired, large square poufs can also be included.
A clever accessory to support the backrests, that can be moved and positioned on each and every element, increasing the support height, offering perfect comfort for each type of seating.
