Imagine our great ancestors and their lifestyle, their knives, hammers and arrowheads, all made of stone. Today Gie El Home presents the results of their work. Slate lamps are unique, surprising and fresh despite the use of an ancient material. Instead of giving the lamp the appearance of stone, they did something opposite. They gave stone the appearance of a lamp. They used slate, and its texture. It allows light and shade to play a wonderful performance on its surface.
Old means, new possibilities
The product has already been recognized among designers. The family of slate lamps was used to complete the design of a renowned mountain resort in Zakopane.
The hotel is situated in a picturesque area just below the rocky heights of The Tatra Mountains in Poland. At the very entrance, guests are welcomed by a medium-sized slate lamp. It's just a prologue to what the guests will see above the lobby.
A full-size slate lamp makes a huge impression and gives a specific ambience that refers to the rocky nature of the nearby mountains.
The family of slate lamps consists of the following members. It’s a set of three lamps, small medium sized and a big one. The smallest one determines a segment of which the other two are made of.
