“Our father has always been fascinated and interested in high craftsmanship - say Fulvia and Elisa Mendini - a thing that he found in Porro on the occasion of their first experience together in 2014-15, for the realization of Maggio chest of drawers and Schermo cupboard. There he had played with the absence of color, or actually with the color of the natural wood essences, which was something that he liked so much.
"This time - continue Fulvia and Elisa - Lorenzo and Maria Porro wanted to do a tribute to dad, trying to show what was perhaps the most important figure of his work, where color has always been the protagonist. We identified in the Alessandro Mendini archive some drawings that had a very advanced level of design. These pieces of furniture are really very faithful to the original design, we are really happy for this collaboration”.

"It is a family of containers - Maria Porro continues - characterized by an inlaid front in red, blue, light blue, yellow and white, made deeper by black: a depth that the lacquered color could not give. This is why we looked for an alternative solution and found a producer of cellulose acetate plates, the material used for glasses, which is also suitable for making the pointed geometries of these decorations. For these sideboards we also had to provide a particular fastening system, experimenting with different solutions”
