The Abstraction collection is based on the ideas of abstractionism and the generalization of forms. Still, instead of translating an image into its simplified form, Tapis Rouge created complex compositions from the interaction of multiple forms, colors, and geometric proportions. Experimentation is extended to the shape of the rug, which in some cases is round, to the fibers used, to knotting techniques, metallic details, different pile heights, and color combinations with a strong personality.
Composition I.I hand-knotted rug with a knot density of 100knots/inch² comprises 33% Wool, 65% Silk, and 2% Metallic yarn with sculpted details that rise from the carving phase. The alternate engraved and embossed pile levels from 4 to 6 mm heights emphasize the design's forms.
The rug can be ordered in four standard sizes or by custom request.
