The La Scala collection was inspired by Mike Shilov's admiration for Italian architecture, particularly the beauty and variety of staircases as architectural elements.
The collection is the result of research into the different functions of this element, from ancient times to modern and contemporary styles, from celebratory, scenic, and monumental functions, neoclassical and baroque to modern architecture. The design in the collection reduces the element to its essentiality of outlines that gravitate into a metaphysical space in the shades of different terrestrial and non-terrestrial, complex color combinations.
All rugs in the collection have a knot density of 150 knots/inch², a pile height of 4mm, and a variable combination of precious wool and silk.The Venezia Celeste Rug is made of 18% wool and 82% silk, available in four sizes and custom-made
